Dark brown leather binding featuring Neo-Gothic details. Intricate double clasp in gold-tone metal with floral details on front and back covers, 5 raised bands on spine, metallic gold dentelle details on cover edges and at interior, metallic gold and red floral endpapers, Latin and French. 

Intricate illustrated borders around page contents, engravings by Charles Morel, a highly active French historical painter and military illustrator. Dalpayrat et Depelley commissioned him to draw hundreds of distinct wood-engravings and text borders for their luxury missals. 439 pages.

Condition: Some wear to top and bottom of spine and to corners, some faint marks throughout covers and spine, first signature is loose but attached. Good condition.
