1. About Us

Stinky Old Books is an online bookstore based in Ireland. By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms.

2. Our Products

We sell physical antiquarian books, including used and rare editions. We do our best to accurately describe each book's condition and provide detailed photographs. If you receive an item that significantly differs from its description, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.

3. Pricing & Payment

Prices are displayed in your local currency based on your location. The amount charged will be converted at the rate applied at checkout. Physical books are currently sold without VAT in accordance with applicable Irish tax law. This may change as our business grows.

We accept payment via the methods listed at checkout. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and to cancel orders affected by such errors.

4. Orders & Availability

Placing an order is an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order — for example, if a book is no longer available or if we suspect fraudulent activity. You'll be notified and fully refunded if this happens.

5. Delivery

We aim to dispatch orders within 3-5 business days. Delivery timelines vary by destination. See our Shipping Policy for full details, and feel free to contact us if you require faster shipping options. 

6. Customs, Duties & Import Taxes

Orders shipped outside of Ireland may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or fees levied by the destination country. These charges are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in our product prices or shipping rates. We have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. We recommend checking with your local customs authority before placing an order if you are unsure.

Please note that customs processing may cause delays beyond our estimated delivery times.

7. Returns & Refunds

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. EU customers also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection laws of their country of residence, which these terms do not override.
