The work was designed to prepare Spanish-speaking children for their First Holy Communion by focusing on practical catechism, spiritual discipline, and emotional preparation for receiving the sacrament.

Celluloid binding finished to resemble mother-of-pearl, gold decorative linework details across front cover and spine, Mary cameo and metal details on cover, gold-tone metal clasp closure, all page edges gold gilt, gold dentelle work around turnins on front and back interior covers, colored frontispiece, black and red illustrations throughout.

Condition: Faint mark on the front cover. Very good to excellent condition.
