1880s Missel Romain | Ornate Double Floral Clasp

Missel Romain, printed by Pellion and Marchet, Dijon, France. Published c. 1880s (liturgical calendar starts 1882 and runs through 1902).

Ornate fine binding Roman Missal prayer book. Deep red leather cover with 5 raised bands, a gold-stamped P.B. initial on the front cover, double silver-tone floral-shaped, intricately gothic clasps, all page edges gold gilt, metallic gold and red floral endpapers, turn-ins feature gold dentelle work, all content brodered with detailed illustrations. Comes with original protective clasped box. Inscription from 1899 marking the recipient's first communion.
