Petit Paroissien Romain. Published by Alfred Mame,  Tours, France. Published 1877. French Language.

This charming pocket-sized parishioner is a 19th-century Catholic liturgical prayer book and missal designed for laypersons to follow along with Sunday services and major feast days. This is the first cross-clasp I've seen in this petite size.

Bound in full brown leather with gold-tone metal framing around the cover boards, a gold-tone cross-shaped metal clasp closure with intricate floral detailing, subtle linework on cover boards and spines, four raised bands on the spine; and all page edges are gold gilt.

70 mm W x 110 mm H. 384 pages.

Condition: Some marks and discoloration to the covers and spine; the metal frame has spots of tarnish, as does the clasp; the gold gilt on the pages is faded or discolored in some spots; foxing throughout; half of the back endpaper is missing, and some pages are loose but still attached. Good to Fair condition. Very sturdy when the clasp is closed.
