Gauffered edge prayer book printed by Alfred Mame, Tours, France. Publication c. late 1860s (Text carries a movable feast liturgical calendar spanning 1867–1878).
A charming collection of abridged duties of a Christian containing prayers for mornings, evenings, the dead, confession, before Communion, mass of Communion, Litany of Saints, sprinkling of water, holy mass, prayer for the Emperor, and Penitential psalms, among others.
Brown cover with decorative imprinted cross details across front and back cover boards. All page edges are gold-gilt and gauffered with a repeating geometric floral pattern. French language, 576 pages.

Condition: Missing frontispiece and cover pages at front and endpapers at back, some foxing to pages, missing metal clasp closure pieces, marginalia writing on front and back inner cover in pencil (looks like the previous owner practiced writing their name in cursive). Fair condition.
