Le Guide de la femme chrétienne (The Guide of the Christian Woman), created by the Thibaud-Landriot Brothers Printing in Clermont-Ferrand, France. Published 1854. French Language. 

The title page lists the author pseudonymously as "Par Mme la Baronne de L..." (By Madame the Baroness of L...). In reality, she was the aristocratic French author Marie-Félicité de La Rochefoucauld, Baronne de Lassus.

She was a prominent noblewoman who dedicated her life to writing high-society devotional guides tailored for upper-class French women. In The Guide of the Christian Woman, de Lassus created a specialized Catholic moral manual.

The first half of the book serves as a behavioral blueprint, detailing how a woman of status should navigate her daily life through a strictly Catholic lens. The second half transitions into a practical daily workbook for personal piety, guiding the reader through a specific spiritual routine.

This gem is bound in green leather with gold-gilt Maltese crosses across the covers and spine; all page edges are painted red and feature a gold-gilt decorative gauffered stylized leaf motif; the turn-ins are decorated in intricate gold dentelle; it has marbled endpapers; an engraved frontispiece; and border details around the content. 

110 mm W x 160mm H. 604 pages. 

Condition: Some discoloration on the front and back cover; some wear to the hinges at the corners of the spine; corners are rubbed; some fading to the red paint on the page edges; foxing throughout. Good Condition.
