Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you find the books?

I've been collecting since high school, and living in Ireland has rapidly increased my book buying habits!

Some of the books are from my personal collection that I am ready to share, and others are sourced on my trips to places like Bordeaux, France, Edinburgh, Scotland, and in Dublin, Ireland.

How long until I receive my order?

We aim to dispatch all orders within 3-5 business days. Delivery timelines vary by destination.

See our Shipping Policy for full details, and feel free to contact us if you require faster shipping options.

Do you accept returns?

EU Customers: In accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive, customers in the European Union have the right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 days of receiving their order, without giving any reason. Please see our Refund Policy to learn more.

All Other Customers: We specialize in storied antique treasures that have often lived many lives before coming to us. Due to their antique and vintage nature, all items sold are final sale.

These unique antique items often carry marks of age and use, which add to their interest and hint at their past. As we strive to provide accurate descriptions and detailed photos as well as the disclosure of significant imperfections, we are unable to accommodate returns or exchanges.

Will there be any duties or tariffs on my order?

Orders shipped outside of Ireland may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or fees levied by the destination country.

These charges are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in our product prices or shipping rates. We have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. We recommend checking with your local customs authority before placing an order if you are unsure.

Do you use insured shipping on all orders?

We use insured shipping on all orders. For orders valued up to €350, we use An Post Express, wich is insured for the full value.

For orders valued €351+, we use An Post International Courier service, which partners with DHL, and use a third-party parcel insurance provider to ensure the order's full value is covered.

On these orders valued over €350, the third-party insurance provider requires a signature upon delivery.

If a package arrives damaged customers should note:

• Upon delivery (Critical): If the package arrives damaged, you must either refuse it or clearly note the specific damage on the delivery receipt before signing. Simply signing for the package accepts it "as is".

• Keep the packaging: Do not throw away damaged boxes or packing materials; photos will be required to process your claim.

Reach out to our email, StinkyOldBooks@gmail.com for us to work together to file a claim.

What if my order arrives damaged?

As is the nature of antique books, they have many lives before they come our way. They will therefore often times show signs of their age. We do our best to provide accurate condition descriptions and photographs.
