Paroissien Romain. Published by Dalpayrat et Depelley, Limoges, France. Published 1890. French Language.
This charming pocket-sized parishioner is a 19th-century Catholic liturgical prayer book and missal designed for laypersons to follow along with Sunday services and major feast days. This is the first cross-clasp I've seen in this petite size.
Full black leather binding with cross and line work on the front and back covers; a gold-toned metal frame on the front and back covers; a shield-like metal clasp with intricate etched floral design; metallic endpapers, and all page edges gold-gilt.
74 mm W x 109mm H. 396 pages.
Condition: Some marks and discoloration to cover and spine; wear to front upper spine hinge; metal clasp and frame are bent but still functional; metal is tarnished in spots; foxing throughout. Fair condition.
