This book is a complete Catholic devotional and prayer book compiled from the spiritual writings of canonical saints. It includes added spiritual poems written by P. Gall Morel (Father Gall Morel), an influential Swiss Benedictine monk, poet, and scholar from Einsiedeln Abbey.

Bound in sumptuous purple velvet, the intricate silver emblem in the center is a stylized interlocking AM for Auspice Maria; the front and back covers have metal rims, and the book has a metal clasp closure with a modified ermine cross design; all page edges are gold-gilt. 

This is an example of a Fine Edition from Benziger. Fine Editions were their top-tier presentation books meant to be given as milestone gifts for weddings, confirmations, or first communions.

Condition: Velvet is in great condition with few signs of wear; some light fading in spots; gold page edges have some fading; metal rims have some tarnish. Very good condition.
